TUESDAY FELLOWSHIP – SUMMER BREAK

WEDNESDAY CONCERN - An opportunity to pause midweek to pray for our church and for other concerns, to share in devotions and to have fellowship over a cup of coffee.  Wednesdays at 10 a.m. in Room 2.  Why not come along? 

MIDWEEK COMMUNION SERVICE – PLEASE NOTE the following change for July only – the next service will be held on Wednesday, 28th July at 10.00am in Room 3. All are welcome.
 
CHURCHES TOGETHER IN ACOMB – Meet on the first Saturday of each month 10–10.45am in room 2 to pray for our community. If you are able come along and join in. Next meeting 4th September.

OTHER INFORMATION:

SOUTH-WEST CHURCHES TOGETHER are having a ‘Praise by the Bridge’ Special with the Archbishop of York, TODAY Sunday 18th July at 3.00pm.  This will take place by the Millennium Bridge. Please see the Notice Board for further information.

JAZZ REVIEW FOR GAZA – featuring many of York’s finest Jazz regulars on Monday 19th July - 7pm at the Post Office Club, Marygate £7 on the door. Please see the notice board for further information.

Here at AMC on Saturday 24th July 4-6pm  – Be sure to come along and bring friends and neighbours! Also, please sign up TODAY if you would like to help! If you are unable to help on the day please consider making a donation instead – Craft materials are always welcome or Food – as the theme this time is ‘The Seaside’ we are going to be serving – what else but Fish(fingers), chips and peas!  For leaflets and more information please see the Notice Board.

SAFEGUARDING SESSIONS – more sessions have been arranged.  If you were not able to attend one of the previous sessions, the next sessions will take place on Tuesday, 20th July at 7.30pm at Copmanthorpe Methodist Church, or 28th July at 2.00pm at St George’s Methodist Church.  Please see the noticeboard for a list of those people for whom this training is essential.

LINE DANCING Social Evening – Ami Walker and her group which use our hall each Wednesday have offered to have a social evening to raise funds for our Car Park and this will take place on Friday 30th July from 7pm Tickets £4 – from the church office. All welcome. Church will be providing refreshments to raise further funds so any offers of help would be much appreciated.

Fundraising for resurfacing of the car park - Thank you to everyone who has completed a form for the “silent auction”. The offers will be able to be seen and bids put in at a coffee morning to be held on Saturday 31st July 10am-12noon. Be sure to come along! (The fundraising team Rev. Rachel Wood, Ian Jennings, Jim Downie, Geraldine Ferry and Jean White). 

FUTURE DATES FOR YOUR DIARY:
CITY OF SANCTUARY is a movement to build a culture of hospitality for people seeking sanctuary in the UK.  There will be a meeting to discuss this proposal for York at Priory Street Centre, in the Main Hall, on Wednesday, 1st September at 7.30pm.  It will be led by Rev. Inderjit Bhogal, Chief Executive, Yorkshire and Humber Faiths Forum and past President of the Methodist Conference.

YOUR CHURCH NEEDS YOU! - Would you like to be learn about taking a more active role in the leading of worship in our church? WANT TO KNOW MORE?? Why not come along to a Worship Leaders’ Course? One evening a week for seven weeks from Wednesday October 6th (7.00pm – 9.00pm) here at Acomb Methodist Church. INTERESTED???
